A practical guide
to moving funds.

Use this sequence when an independently verified provider offers an account. It explains the records and checks to make, without assuming that a particular payment integration is available.

Before the first deposit

Verify once. Check every instruction.

Read the provider’s funding policy inside its official portal. An emailed change of bank details should be independently checked, even if an earlier deposit went through successfully.

  1. Confirm the account is ready

Check identity status, supported currency and deposit limits. Ask whether a first payment needs additional review before it becomes usable.

  2. Select an offered payment method

Choose from the provider’s current account screen, not from this website’s illustrative table. Record any charge and the expected amount credited.

  3. Match the beneficiary

Confirm the recipient’s legal name, account details and reference. Use a payment account you are authorised to operate and that meets the provider’s ownership rules.

  4. Review before authorising

Recheck the amount and currency, especially when a dollar sign is used without a code. Do not let a caller take control of the payment screen.

  5. Reconcile the credit

Keep the bank confirmation and provider receipt. If the balance does not arrive within the stated window, request a trace rather than repeating the transfer.

The record matters

Keep a simple
transfer log.

A complete reference makes a delayed payment easier to investigate. Store the original receipt in a secure location and avoid sending full bank statements when a redacted transaction record will do.

A payment record moving through submission and reconciliation
Record Example of what to retain
Timestamp Date, time and time zone of submission
Amount Sent amount, currency code and any fee
Destination Verified legal beneficiary and masked account details
Reference Bank transfer reference and provider deposit identifier
Status Pending, credited, rejected or returned, with dates
Requesting a withdrawal

Work from the available balance.

First identify the amount the provider marks as eligible for withdrawal. A portfolio’s market value may include assets that must be sold and settled before cash can leave.

  1. Resolve open commitments

Review unsettled trades, reserved amounts and any product restrictions. Ask what happens to a pending strategy if cash is withdrawn.

  2. Choose a verified destination

Use the approved same-name bank account or other permitted route. Confirm whether changes to destination details trigger a security hold.

  3. Save the request confirmation

Record the requested amount, displayed fee and processing estimate. Distinguish provider review time from the time taken by the payment network.

  4. Check the final receipt

Compare the received amount with the release record and ask about any difference. Keep the statements needed to reconcile the account later.

When a transfer does not go to plan.

Delayed deposit

Ask whether the bank has released the funds and whether the provider has matched the reference. A bank receipt proves submission, not necessarily final provider credit.

Verification request

Confirm the request through the official portal. Supply relevant evidence securely and ask which function is restricted while it is reviewed.

Unexpected extra payment

Pause if someone demands a new deposit to unlock a withdrawal. Independently verify the claim and use the fraud guidance before sending more money.
